 Louisiana Bed and Breakfast Inns
When most people think of Louisiana right now, they are thinking about hurricanes, rebuilding, and mud.  But Louisiana has a lot more to offer than New Orleans itself, which is currently rising back up from being knocked flat.  The state of Louisiana is a rich and fascinating city, with historical sites to explore and state parks to enjoy along with your whole family.

The best way to see the state is by finding a person who is willing to welcome you into his or her home to enjoy their hospitality while you enjoy the state.  You might be thinking that you don’t know of anyone in the state.  How, in that case, are you supposed to find someone to stay with during your visit to Louisiana?  The answer is as simple as visiting a bed and breakfast.  Your room will be comfortable and private, your life simplified, and your stay as wonderful as you can imagine, without the hassle of dealing with a hotel.

If this isn’t sounding doable to you at the moment, then take the time to conduct a quick internet search, and you will find that there are directories and listing of bed and breakfast accommodations out there just waiting to be found and used.  You can book a bed & breakfast as easily as you would a hotel, and your stay is almost guaranteed to be nicer.

There is plenty to see in warm Louisiana, from the prairies and woodlands of the state to the marshlands and the Mississippi River, which runs through the entire state before dumping into the Gulf of Mexico to the south of the state.

Louisiana was originally claimed by the French, and the influence from France still runs throughout the state in the forms of cooking, which is inspired.  People come from all over the world to taste the unique Cajun flavors produced in Louisiana, and you should not visit the state without tasting some Cajun cooking for yourself.  If you have a particularly friendly host at your bed and breakfast, you may be able to enjoy a good home cooked Cajun meal during your stay.  Enjoy the food, the festivities, and the atmosphere of Louisiana.

The state park system of Louisiana is also quite extensive, especially considering the small size of the state.  There is a system of nineteen state parks, sixteen state historic sites, and one state preservation area in the small, subtropical state.  There is only one national forest in the entire state, the Kisatchie National Forest.  You could spend days on end exploring the many national parks and still not have run out of places to explore and things to see.  Luckily, camping is great for the whole year, with winter temperatures rarely if ever dropping below freezing, even during the worst of winter.

If you are more the fishing type, you have the entire Mississippi River to fish, as well as the many other streams and rivers that cross Louisiana and empty into the Gulf of Mexico.  And speaking of the Gulf, good fishing is to be had in the waters there as well, so don’t limit yourself to the freshwater catches.  If you ask before your trip, your host may even grill up some of your catches for you so that you can all enjoy the fruits of your labor of love.

If you would rather be underwater than on the water, there are ways to arrange this as well.  Take a Discover scuba course, for example, and you can be underwater on the same day, enjoying a scuba diving adventure with your family and friends under the watchful eye of an instructor to keep you safe.  Check out the tropical fishes of the area, and explore an entirely new world as you sink beneath the waves of the Gulf of Mexico.

When you come back up for air, think about taking the time to put on a snorkel and mask and float in the water a while to get a bird’s eye view of the action underwater, and enjoy relaxing in the warm surf at the same time.  On the other hand, a boat deck or sandy beach might be just the alternative you want to keep you relaxed and warm as you soak up the sun on your vacation to Louisiana.

When you are done, don’t forget that you have a comfortable home to return to.  Whether your bed and breakfast is in the city or the countryside, the woods or right on the beach, you will know that you can relax and enjoy the comforts of your home away from home from right there.  Your hosts will cook you breakfast to prepare you for the day and allow you to relax in the evenings, and all you have to do is remember to relax.  You will love your vacation to Louisiana.

New Orleans Bed And Breakfast Inns
Of course, no vacation to Louisiana is complete without a visit to the city of New Orleans, even after the disaster that caused much of the city to be rebuilt.  Like the phoenix, the city of New Orleans is rising from the ashes of defeat to rebuild bigger and better than ever.  The excitement of Marti Gras can only be described as throwing defeat back into the faces of the elements as the city rises up again.

No matter what cities you choose to visit or what part of the state that you spend your time in, you will soon come to understand what a beautiful and unique land that Louisiana is.  From the rivers and streams to the woods to the beaches, there is something to draw anyone out of their shells.  You will find that no matter your age or situation, your Louisiana bed and breakfast will be the perfect home base from which to explore an amazing and delightful state.  There is nothing like waking up and looking forward to the excitement that your day has to offer you.  Welcome to Louisiana.  Enjoy!
